Christopher P. Ridout

Mr. Ridout attended Harvard University where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1986. While focusing on his major of American History, Mr. Ridout was a member of the Harvard Varsity Football Team and played in the historic 100th Harvard-Yale match-up commonly referred to as "The Game." In his senior year, he was awarded the "William Payne LeCroix Memorial Award" given to that team member exhibiting the most loyalty and dedication to the Harvard Varsity Football Team.

Mr. Ridout next attended the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law where he received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1989. While attending McGeorge, Mr. Ridout began representing underprivileged individuals in connection with housing and domestic disputes as a member, and later a student supervisor, of McGeorge’s Community Legal Services. It was during this tenure that Mr. Ridout learned the significance of aggressive, yet pragmatic, legal representation.

Mr. Ridout’s characteristics of loyalty and pragmatism have remained the lynchpin of his philosophy in practicing law since passing the California Bar Examination in 1989. His unique legal experience has contributed to this philosophy. From 1989 until 1997, Mr. Ridout associated with such prestigious law firms as Shield & Smith; Janik, Lester & Dunn; and Bonne, Bridges, Mueler, O’Keefe & Nichols, with which he was mentored by some of the most gifted trial attorneys in the Nation. During this period, Mr. Ridout defended a myriad of cases involving numerous parties and complex issues.

In 1997, Mr. Ridout was offered an associate position by the law firm of Rose, Klein & Marias LLP. Having faced Rose, Klein & Marias LLP on many prior matters, and having had the opportunity to observe the high quality of representation it provided to its clients, Mr. Ridout was honored to join Rose, Klein & Marias LLP and altered his focus of representation to the prosecution of actions on behalf of corporations, individuals and consumers. Mr. Ridout and his legal philosophy were a perfect match with Rose, Klein & Marrias LLP which is demonstrated by the results of numerous successes on behalf of thousands of clients involving extremely complex issues. Within three years, Mr. Ridout became a Partner and, by the age of 40, he was elected as one of the Firm’s Managing Partners.

In founding the law firm of Ridout & Lyon LLP, Mr. Ridout seeks to continue his legal philosophy of loyalty and pragmatism in the aggressive representation of his clients. He and his wife, Donna, are hopeful that they may instill the same characteristics in their 3 children.

Devon M. Lyon

Originally from Southern California, Devon M. Lyon attended Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon, where she received her degree in Sociology in 1998. While at Linfield, Ms. Lyon enjoyed a successful athletic career as a member of the Linfield cross-country, track, soccer, and lacrosse teams. She captained the lacrosse team her senior year and was invited to the United States Lacrosse National Team Training Camp in Pennsylvania in 1998. She also graduated from the South Bay Police Reserve Academy.

Ms. Lyon returned to Southern California to attend Whittier Law School and received her doctorate in 2001. Ms. Lyon also attended a summer program in Dublin, Ireland focusing on international business litigation. In her third year of law school, Ms. Lyon participated in an Independent Study lead by Constitutional Law Professor Mary Ellen Gale, researching the changing legislation of Title IX, more commonly known as the "Women’s Sports Legislation."
